Hello and welcome to the shiny new Pretty Lady Photography! I decided that with a new year, my site needed a new look. And boy, what a journey it has been. This actually wasn’t meant to be a ‘New Year, New Look” sort of thing. I thought I would be done with this in like a week, two tops. That was July. Anyone else here really, really bad at tech? Website building is well outside my comfort zone. Give me aperture and shutter speed equations all day, but please don’t ask me to explain the cloud to you.
I thought I should start off by introducing myself. I’m Austin, your dream wedding photographer. I was born and raised in a tiny town in central Montana. I started taking photos in high school for my school newspaper and was also documentarian for my friend group, which in those days meant I packed around a disposable camera or a Nikon Cool Pix. Sooooo cool. I went to college at the University of Montana in Missoula, where I met my wonderful and supportive husband, Tim. We were married in a clearing in the forest on an absolutely perfect day in June 2010. We have a daughter, Julia who is ten and a son, Jack, who is seven. We moved to Colorado in 2015 for my husband’s job. Not going to lie, it was a tough transition at first, but now we are settled in and Colorado really feels like home. When my daughter was born I went into preschool teaching, mainly for the free daycare (ha) and spent the last ten years working in preschools so I could be close to my babies. I took some time off from photography, but picked it back up when my son was born, mostly hoping to get great pictures of my kids all the time. As it turns out, my kids don’t really like getting their pictures taken (plus, moms are so uncool), so I started working my photography as a little side hustle. Over the years it has grown and grown, and in July of 2020 I left my teaching job to pursue my dream full time.
I love being a photographer. I love everything about it. I love the gear and the nerdy knowledge. I love shooting and editing. I love meeting new people and making that connection with my couples that makes me feel like I’m part of the family. I love sharing my work and having my clients freak out over how much they adore their photos. That’s the very best.

11 years married and still so in love!

Us the last time we did portraits. Hmm... maybe I need to find a photographer.

I'm a sucker for a selfie, especially when I'm at the beach! This is from a recent trip to New Jersey.
